England's Jaz Brown ruled out of Commonwealth Games and rest of Netball Super League season through injury

England’s Jaz Brown has been ruled out of this summer's Commonwealth Games and the rest of the Netball Super League season through injury.

England Netball and NIC Leeds Rhinos have confirmed that Brown will undergo surgery after suffering an Achilles injury in the club's round three Netball Super League (NSL) game against Nottingham Forest.

Brown will have surgery, which will be followed by a lengthy period of rehabilitation, which will prevent her from taking part in the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The Vitality Roses international said: "As tough as this moment is, I'm choosing to stay positive and more determined than ever to come back stronger to the sport I love. I love a challenge, and I'm looking forward to using this time to grow both mentally and physically, with my sights firmly set on the 2027 season.

"Being ruled out for the remainder of the season is difficult, especially with the timing of the Commonwealth Games coming up, but I know this is not the end of my story and I will be back for more.

"I'm incredibly grateful for the small circle around me. The support I've felt, both near and far, means more than I can put into words during this difficult time.

"I would like to thank the medical staff at England Netball and Leeds Rhinos for their care as well as my fellow players who have sent messages of support."
